ADVANTAGES OF CLOUD COMPUTING
Cloud computing refers to computing that is conducted over the Internet. Cloud is a metaphor term that refers to the Internet. In cloud computing, resources such as information and software are provided at a fee on demand.
Cloud computing involves servers, storage and networks. However, a cloud computing client does not own the infrastructure, the client only pays for the resources accessed from a cloud computing provider. The following are the cloud computing advantages:
Ø Cloud computing enables a client to avoid expensive capital expenses in buying own infrastructure such as hardware, software and services.
Ø Cloud computing enables a client to access a variety of applications.
Ø Cloud computing does not require intensive IT training for in-house implementation as it is easy to maintain.
Ø Independence. As resources are centralized, they can be accessed from anywhere so long as there is connection to the Internet. This can be done through a PC or web enabled mobile phones.
Ø Cloud computing ensures that the latest applications are available as changes reach clients instantly.
Ø A client is in a position to terminate a cloud computing contract at any time, avoiding any uncertainty.
Ø Privacy and security. Cloud computing providers are in constant look out for clients. To be able to succeed, they have to protect clients’ privacy and security of data.
