ADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC CARS

Electric cars employ the use of electric motors and controllers for propulsion unlike the common cars that employ internal combustion processes for propulsion. In general, electric cars are powered by electricity that is stored on-board in battery-packs. 

Electric car advantages include:

Ø  Reduced running costs. Compared to common cars that employ internal combustion processes, an electric car consumes cheaper electricity than gasoline. This becomes evident when both cars are run at the same speed over the same distance.

Ø  Restorable energy. In breaking systems, while cars employing internal combustion lose heat during breaking, electric cars turn this heat back to recharge its system, thereby restoring its energy levels.

Ø  Reduced servicing costs. Electric cars costs less to service compared to other cars.

Ø  Electric cars do not emit dangerous gases and are therefore environment friendly.

Ø  Electric cars have modest acceleration that is smooth with a breaking system that is smooth too.

Ø  Safety. An electric car is generally heavy. This weight also comes as an advantage in case of an accident as the occupants are likely to sustain only light injuries compared to a car that is light.

Ø  Electric cars produce very small noise pollution and are therefore safe in congested cities.
